    Dr. Yurgelun is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a gastrointestinal medical oncologist affiliated with both the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Gastrointestinal Cancer Center and the Center for Cancer Genetics & Prevention. He is a clinical researcher whose focus and expertise is on the diagnosis and management of patients with inherited gastrointestinal cancer syndromes.

    Dr. Yurgelun received his MD from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He currently serves as a Specialty Editor for the Hereditary Gastrointestinal Cancer Syndromes section of Cancer.net and on the Leadership Council of the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancer.
